Do the 5!

Hemophilia is a complicated disease, but there are certain things everyone can do to prevent or reduce the complications of bleeding disorders.

As part of its national prevention program, the National Hemophilia Foundation urges everyone with hemophilia to take these five crucial steps:

- Get an annual comprehensive exam at a hemophilia treatment
- Get vaccinated for hepatitis A and B.
- Treat bleeds early and adequately.
- Exercise to protect joints.
- Get tested regularly for blood-borne infections.
